How to Burn More Than Once to DVD R

With a simple trick, it's possible to burn files to CD/DVD R's multiple times. This process is called "burning with multi session" and it's easy even for inexperienced computer users to understand and perform.

Select the files to be written on the DVD and then click next, after you will be asked if you want to burn the DVD in multi session or not.

You can't convert a DVD-R; they're manufactured to only be written to, not erased. You'll have to buy some DVD-RW discs.

I copied a VHS tape to a DVD-R. How can I add another VHS tape to same DVD?

You probably need a compressor unit device to compress two films on one disc. Once a DVD R is finalized, there is no way to add another film to the open unrecorded space.

Windows 7 has the facility to use a CD/DVD as a flash drive - i.e. you can copy, delete and do anything to your Disc. Insert an empty disc and copy some stuff to it. Then on the top bar below the menu bar click on the Tab " Burn these items to disc"

DVD-R's and CD-R's aren't really meant to be reused. These disks have a hardware limitation where once a certain area of the disk is used, no more changes can be made to that area, so you will gradually lose disk space until the disk is unusable. If you want the ability to keep using a DVD or CD like a flash-drive, go for the RW variants (DVD-RW or CD-RW).

Some burning software does not have a multi-session burning facility, so before writing to a DVD, make sure that you enable multi-sessions if you want to write more files onto the DVD in the future

Once you burn a file onto a DVD-R or CD-R, that portion of the disk cannot be changed, and is "read-only". Therefore, you will gradually lose disk space, if you are to keep adding files.
