Near the Trial Site

  1. Once you are almost done with Poni Canyon, you will see a small patch of grass near the trial site.
    • In this patch, you have a 5% chance to find a Jangmo-o.
  2. Your chances can be boosted by having a Pokémon with the move Sweet Scent in your party, or an ability that increases encounters with wild Pokémon.

    Does anyone know where the tree is?

    I recommend traversing the whole of Poni Canyon, and then using Machamp Shove to move the boulder near the Veteran by the entrance. The tree is near that opening.

    No. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, Vast Poni Canyon is the only known place where you can catch Jangmo-o.

      • The best time to catch Jangmo-o is night, as it lets you use a Dusk Ball, which greatly increases your chances of catching it.

      • Quick Balls are very useful if you don't want to fight Jangmo-o in fear of it fainting.
