Litleo is a Fire and Normal-Type Pokémon, first introduced in Pokémon X and Y. It evolves into the also Fire and Normal-Type Pokémon, Pyroar, at level 35. Finding Litleo can be a bit difficult, but fortunately, this wikiHow will provide you with some advice for finding this Pokémon.
Steps
-
1Stock up on Pokéballs. Litleo has a relatively high catch rate, so regular Pokéballs or Great Balls should work well (however, be sure to bring a few with you in case your first attempt at catching Litleo is unsuccessful).
- You can also bring a few Quick Balls if you'd like to attempt to catch Litleo at the very beginning of the encounter.
- Litleo will likely be a lower level, so you can also try bringing a few Nest Balls with you, since these Pokéballs work better if a Pokémon you're trying to catch is a lower level.
-
2Try to bring Fighting, Rock, Ground and/or Water-Type Pokémon with you. Since Litleo is a Normal and Fire-Type Pokémon, it is weak to all 4 of these types. [1] X Research source
- It is, however, immune to Ghost-Type moves, so keep this in mind. [2] X Research source

3Know where to find Litleo. In Pokémon X and Y, there is only one location where Litleo can be found, and that's in the grass on Route 22, Détourner Way. It's encounter rate is slightly lower than average, so it may take you a few minutes to find one, though it shouldn't take too long. [3] X Research source

4Weaken the Litleo to about half-health or less. This will help to make catching it easier. Once its health is at about half or less, throw the Pokéball to attempt to catch it.
- Remember, if you're going to use a Quick Ball, try to throw it immediately when the encounter begins so that it's more likely to be successful.
- Use moves such as False Swipe, since these are guaranteed to leave Litleo with at least 1 HP.
- Avoid moves that will Poison or Burn, since these make a Pokémon slowly lose health over time, which means the Litleo may end up fainting before you can catch it.
-
5Enjoy using your new Litleo! Once you catch it, you can put it in your Party or send it to a PC Box. If you’d like it to gain experience, then be sure to put it in your Party; otherwise, you can send it to the PC Box.Advertisement

Tips

Thanks
- You don’t necessarily have to battle with Litleo in order for it to get experience. As long as it is in your party, and you have Exp. Share (obtained after the first Gym) turned on, then it should still gain experience after any battle. Thanks
- Occasionally, Litleo may call for help if its health is low enough. If this happens, then you’ll have to defeat the Pokémon that appears before you will be able to catch Litleo. Thanks
