Stufful is a Normal and Fighting-Type Pokémon, first introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. It evolves into the also Normal and Fighting-Type Pokémon, Bewear, at level 27. [1] X Research source Catching Stufful can be a bit difficult at times, however, so this wikiHow will provide you with some advice for catching one in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
Steps
-
1Purchase Pokéballs at a Pokémart. Stufful's catch rate is slightly higher than average [2] X Research source , so a few Great Balls should work well (however, be sure that you bring multiple Great Balls with you, in case your first attempt at catching Stufful is unsuccessful).
- You can also bring a few Quick Balls with you if you'd like to attempt to catch Stufful immediately when the encounter begins.
-
2Bring Fighting, Flying, Psychic and/or Fairy-Type Pokémon with you. Since Stufful is Normal and Fighting-Type, it is weak to those types of Pokémon. [3] X Research sourceAdvertisement
-
3Know where to find Stufful. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, you can find Stufful on Route 8, as well as in the Akala Outskirts. [6] X Research source It does, however, have a relatively lower chance of appearing in both locations, [7] X Research source [8] X Research source so you may be looking for awhile. However, eventually, you should encounter a Stufful.
-
4Lower Stufful's health to about half or less. This will make catching it easier. Try using Fighting, Psychic, Flying, and/or Fairy-Type Pokémon, as mentioned earlier.
- You can also use the move False Swipe, since this move is guaranteed to leave the Pokémon it is used on with at least 1 HP.
- Try and avoid using moves that Poison or Burn, since this will make Stufful slowly lose health, and it may end up fainting before you are able to catch it.
- Stufful's level will likely be in the late teens or early 20s, so keep this in mind when choosing Pokémon to use in your encounter with it.
-
5Throw a Pokéball to catch your Stufful. Once Stufful's health is half or less, throw a Pokéball. Eventually, you should successfully catch the Stufful, and you can add it to your party if you'd like.Advertisement

Tips
- If you don’t want to use Stufful in battle but you want it to level up, it still can. Make sure the Exp. Share you received at the Trainer’s school is turned on, and as long as Stufful is in your Party, it should still receive Exp. from battles you win. Thanks
- Stufful may occasionally call for help if its health gets too low. If this happens, you’ll need to defeat whichever Pokémon appears before you’re allowed to catch Stufful. Thanks
