If you've ever had to change your email address and wondered how to change your email address on TikTok so you can receive other security and other notifications via it, this article will explain how you can make this change happen.
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 2:
Changing On an iPhone
-
Open up your TikTok app on your device and make sure you are logged in via your account you need to change the email address for. The TikTok app's icon has a black background and is a white-colored (almost 3D-like) backward T - the classic "TikTok" icon.
-
Open up your "Me" or "Profile" tab on your device. The Profile device may be on the bottom right side of the app - next to your Inbox.Advertisement
-
Tap the Hamburger menu (near the top right). This button will look like a series of dots.
-
Tap the "Manage account" button. You should find it just under the "Account" (all-caps) label near the top of the screen.
-
Tap the "Email" line. It should be between the Phone number and Date of birth listings.
-
Click the "Change" button in the dialog box. The dialog box will have a bolded "Your email:" followed by your email - followed by a less bold "This email is linked to your account and is only visible to you. To change or unlink it, we may need to verify the email for your security.
-
Provide the numerical 6-digit code to get the right page. It'll be sent to your original email address provided. If you can't access that email address, you can tap the "Can't access this email address?" and provide other ideas to find a suitable verification method.
-
Provide your different email address for the update, into the box initially marked "Email address" below the label for "Change email address".
-
Tap the "Send code" button, below the email address field. This is their verification for their email address system for the new email address to verify there's a human at the other end, who's made the change.
-
Double check the Manage account screen, to ensure it is correct with the change. Although most of the email will be filtered out for privacy, if what is seen is right (the first and last of the email plus the service and email address extension), you can assume it's right.
- While you are on this page, check that your date of birth and phone number is correct - if provided.
