Want a different profile picture on your Snapchat profile? If you have a Public Profile, you can easily use any photo from your phone's gallery. If you have a regular profile, you can only customize your Bitmoji. This wikiHow will show you how to change your profile picture on Snapchat using a Public Profile or Bitmoji on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
Updating a Snapchat Profile Picture
To update the picture on your public profile, navigate to your public profile and tap the pencil icon. Tap your current profile picture, and then select a new photo from your Camera Roll or Gallery. Tap Save Changes .

Tap your profile picture. This is your Bitmoji or Story icon at the top-left corner of your screen.

Tap Public Profile . This is at the top of the page. If you don't see this, you don't have a Public Profile.Advertisement

Tap the pencil icon. This is at the top of the screen.

Tap your current profile picture. This will be your avatar or current Bitmoji.
- Your Camera Roll or Gallery will open.

Select a photo. Make sure the photo adheres to Snapchat's community guidelines.

Tap Save Changes . Your new profile picture will be set on your Public Profile.
- If you want to delete your current profile picture, tap the pencil icon again. Tap your profile picture, and then tap Delete Existing Photo .

Tap your profile icon. It's your current profile picture located in the top-left corner.
- Your Bitmoji Selfie is the pose you see as your current profile picture. If you want to change how your Bitmoji looks first, see the next section to change the appearance .

Tap Change Selfie . This is the third option.

Select a new selfie. Scroll down to find more options. A green checkmark will appear on it.

Tap Done . This will save your Bitmoji selfie.

Tap Edit Avatar . You may need to pull up the menu to find this option.

- If you want to change your outfit, return to the previous menu and select Change Outfit instead.
- You can also tap Pose & Background to change how this looks.

Tap Save in the top-right. This will confirm your changes and save your new Bitmoji appearance. Now the friends you’ve added on Snapchat will see and use your new Bitmoji look.

Tap Unlink My Bitmoji . This text is at the bottom of the menu.

Tap Remove when prompted. Doing this removes the Bitmoji avatar from your Snapchat profile.
- If you created your Bitmoji on Snapchat, this will permanently delete the Bitmoji.
- You can always create a new Bitmoji later.
