This wikiHow teaches you how to create a Mii on the Nintendo Switch. Miis are characters you can create and use on a variety of Nintendo Systems, including the Wii, WiiU, and Nintendo DS systems. They can be used as icons to represent your user accounts, or be used as playable characters in certain games.

Steps

  1. Press the Home button to go to the home screen on the Nintendo Switch. The Home button is the button with an icon that resembles a house on the right joy-con controller.
  2. The icon that resembles a gear on the Home screen of the Nintendo Switch is the System Settings menu.
    • To select items on the Nintendo Switch, either double tap them on the screen, or navigate to them using the left joy-con controller and press A on the right joy-con controller.

  3. It's the ninth option in the System Settings menu. All System Settings options are listed in the sidebar to the left.
  4. It's the only option in the Mii option of System Settings.
  5. It's the second option in the Mii menu. This gives you options for creating a new Mii.
    • To edit or delete an existing Mii, select Mii List at the top of the Mii menu, and select an existing Mii. Then select Edit to edit it, or Delete to remove the Mii.
  6. To create a brand new Mii from scratch, select Start from Scratch . If you select Choose a Look Alike , a list of Miis are displayed that you can choose from and then edit.
  7. Select the blue icon that resembles a male to create a male Mii. Select the pink icon that resembles a female to create a female Mii.
  8. The Face option in the Mii menu allows you to select the shape of the head, add makeup, facial markings and select skin color. To select the tabs at the top of the screen, tap them on the screen, or press the R and L buttons to cycle through the tabs. When you select the features you want, press B to go back to the main menu. The tabs at the top contain the following options:
    • The tab that has the circle with a face allows you to select the shape of the head. Tap one of the shapes on the screen to select a shape.
    • The tab that has a circle with pink blush allows you to select make up or light facial hair for the face. Tap one of the makeup styles on screen to select it.
    • The tab that has a circle two brown marks allows you to select wrinkles or facial marks for the face. Tap one of the circles with markings to select it.
    • The tab that says "Color" allows you to select the skin color of the Mii. Tab one of the colored boxes to select the skin color.
  9. The "Eyebrows" option allows you to select the shape of the eyebrows, as well as change the position and size, and the color. Use the tabs at the top of the screen to select the type, position, and color. You can select the tabs by tapping them on the screen, or cycling through them by pressing R and L . The tabs at the have the following options:
    • Types allows you to select the shape of the eyebrows. Tap an eyebrow shape on the screen to select an eyebrow.
    • Position allows you to adjust the position and size of the eyebrows. Use the slider bars to make adjustments. Press up or down to select the different slider bars. Press left or right to make adjustments. The first slider bar adjusts the height of the eyebrows. The second slider bar adjust the spacing of the eyebrows. The third slider bar rotates the eyebrows. The fourth slider bar adjusts the size of the eyebrows. The fifth slider bar adjusts the thickness of the eyebrows.
    • Color allows you to select the color of the eyebrows. Select the color tab at the top and then select a colored box on the screen. Select Show More to display a wider array of colors.
  10. This option allows you to select the nose of your Mii. Tap or select the tabs at the top of the screen to select the nose type and position. The tabs at the top have the following options:
    • Type allows you to select the nose type. Select this tab and then select one of the nose shapes on the screen.
    • Position allows you to adjust the position of the nose. There are two slider bars you can use to adjust the position. The first slider bar adjust the position of the nose (up and down). The second slider bar adjusts the size of the nose. Press up or down to select the slider bars, and press left or right to make adjustments.
  11. This option allows you to select a mustache and/or beard for your Mii and adjust the position and color of the facial hair. Use the tabs at the top to select the types, position, and color. You can tap the tabs at the top to select them or press the R and L buttons to select them. The tab options at the top of the screen are as follows:
    • Types allows you to select a mustache and beard. Select a mustache from the items listed under "Mustache". Select a beard from the items listed under "Beard". You can select both a mustache and a beard. Select the blank circles if you don't want to select a mustache or beard.
    • Position allows you to adjust the position and size of the mustache (you cannot alter the position of the beards). Use the slider bars to adjust the position and size. The first slider bar adjusts the position of the mustache (up and down), and the second slider bar adjust the size of the mustache. Press up and down to select the slider bars, and press left or right to make adjustments.
    • Color allows you to select the color of the facial hair. Select the color tab at the top and then select a colored box on the screen Select Show More to display a wider array of colors.
  12. If you wish to change the gender of your Mii, select the "Gender" option, and tap the male or female icon.
  13. This option allows you to select glasses for your Mii. Use the tabs at the top of the screen to select the glasses types, and adjust the position, and color. You can select the tabs at the top by tapping them on the screen or pressing the R and L buttons to cycle through them. The tab options at the top are as follows:
    • Type allows you to select the glasses type. Clear glasses are listed on top, and sun glasses are listed at the bottom. Select the blank square if you don't want your Mii to wear glasses.
    • Position allows you to adjust the position and size of the glasses. Use the slider bars to adjust the position and size. The first slider bar adjusts the position of the glasses (up and down), and the second slider bar adjust the size of the glasses. Press up and down to select the slider bars, and press left or right to make adjustments.
    • Color allows you to select the color of the glasses. Select the color tab at the top and then select a color box on the screen. Select Show More to display a wider array of colors.
  14. This option allows you to select the hair style and color for your Mii. Use the tabs at the top to select the type and color. You can select the tabs by tapping them at the top of the screen, or by pressing the R and L buttons to cycle through them. The tab options are as follows:
    • Types allows you to select the hair style. Tap a hair style on the screen to select the style. Scroll down to see more style types. There are five pages of hair style types.
    • Color allows you to select the color of the hair. Select the color tab at the top and then select a color box on the screen. Select Show More to display a wider array of colors.
  15. This option allows you to select the eye type, color, and position. Use the tabs at the top of the screen to select the eye shape, position, and color. Tap the tabs at the top of the screen to select them, or press the R and L buttons to cycle through them. The tab options are as follows:
    • Types allows you to select the shape or style of the eyes. Tap one of the eye shapes to select it. Scroll down to see more options. There are two pages of eye types.
    • Position allows you to adjust the position and size of the eyes. Use the slider bars to make adjustments. Press up or down to select the different slider bars. Press left or right to make adjustments. The first slider bar adjusts the height of the eyes. The second slider bar adjust the spacing of the eyes. The third slider bar rotates the eyes. The fourth slider bar adjusts the size of the eyes. The fifth slider bar adjusts the thickness of the eyes.
    • Color allows you to select the color of the eyes. Select the color tab at the top and then select a colored box on the screen. Select Show More to display a wider array of colors.
  16. This option allows you to add a mole to your Mii's face and adjust the position of it. Use the tabs at the top add a mole and adjust the position of it. You can select the tabs at the top by tapping them on the screen, or pressing the R and L buttons. The tab options are as follows:
    • Types allows you to add a mole. Select the circle with a mole to add a mole. Select the blank circle if you don't wish to add a mole.
    • Position allows you to adjust the position and size of the mole. Use the slider bars to make adjustments to the mole. Press up and down to select a slider bar, and press left or right to make adjustments. The first slider bar moves the mole up and down. The second slider bar moves the mole left and right. The third slider bar adjusts the size of the mole.
  17. This option allows you to adjust the height and width of your Mii's body. Use the slider bars to make adjustments. Press up and down to select a slider bar, and press left and right to adjust the slider bar. The first slider bar adjust the height of your Mii. The second slider bar adjust your Mii's body thickness.
  18. This option allows you to select the color of the shirt your Mii is wearing. Tap one of the colored boxes on the screen to change the color of your Mii's shirt.
  19. The last option at the bottom of the screen allows you to create a nickname for your Mii. Tap Nickname and then use the on-screen keyboard to type a name for your Mii.
  20. It's the blue button at the bottom of the screen. This saves all the changes to your Mii and returns to the Mii list.
