How to Delete Promotions in Gmail

- Go to the "Promotions" category.
- Click the box to select everything on the page, and click "Select all conversations in Promotions."
- Click the trash can.
Steps
Section 1 of 3:
Using a Computer
-
Go to your Gmail inbox and click the Promotions tab. Once you log in, click the "Promotions" inbox from the list of categories on the left side of the window. The "Promotions" tag might be hidden behind a "More" menu, so click that to expand your categories list.
- This is the easiest and quickest way to clear your Gmail promotion emails. You can use the mobile app to delete promotions manually, but it's faster to delete all promotions at once on a computer.
-
Click the box above the first email to select everything on the first page. Only messages on the first page will be selected. For example, if you have Gmail set to show you 50 emails per page, clicking this box will select all 50 emails, even if you have more in the tag.Advertisement
-

Section 2 of 3:
Using the Mobile App
-
Open Gmail and navigate to the "Promotions" category. Tap the app icon that looks like a white and red envelope. Once open, tap the three-line menu icon (hamburger icon) in the top left corner and tap Promotions .
- This method is time-consuming since there's no option to delete all the emails simultaneously. It's not recommended if you have a lot of promo emails.
-
Long-tap a sender's icon to select it. Next to each email is a circular icon that you need to long-tap for it to change to a checkmark, which indicates that it's selected.
- Continue tapping to select multiple emails.
- Some Android phones can select up to 50 emails at a time, so tapping Select all at the top might help you if you have fewer promotion emails to get rid of.

Tips
- Find hidden promotion emails by searching "Unsubscribe." Although Gmail's default filters work smoothly, they can sometimes mess up and sort mail to categories or inboxes you don't check. Searching "Unsubscribe" will find those hidden emails so you can move them to the "Promotions" category and have all future emails go to the correct category. Thanks
