Do you want to delete a Messenger account from your Android? As long as you have multiple Messenger accounts, you can easily delete the accounts that aren't logged in. However, if you cannot remove any accounts, you can mute or delete them from your phone. Read on to learn more.
Removing a Facebook Messenger Account on Android
- Tap ☰ in Messenger.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Swipe left on the account you want to remove.
- Tap the red trash icon and then Remove .
Steps

Open Messenger on your Android. It’s the blue chat bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside. You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
- You can remove an account from Messenger if another account is logged in. If there is only one Messenger account in the app, you won't have the option to delete it.

Tap your profile photo. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen and prompts all the Messenger accounts you have on your Android to drop down.

Swipe left on the account you want to remove. Drag your finger from the right side of the screen to the left, and more options will appear on the right.
- You must keep at least one account linked to Messenger on your Android. You won't be able to remove an account if it's the only one signed in.

Tap the red trash can. A confirmation message will appear.

Tap Remove to confirm. This removes the account from Messenger on this Android.
