Fortunately, it’s easy to delete any Spotify playlist that you created (or unfollow playlists created by someone else). This step-by-step guide will teach you how to delete Spotify playlists using your phone, tablet, or computer—along with a handy shortcut to mass delete Spotify playlists from your library.
Deleting Playlists on Spotify
- Open the Spotify app on your iPhone or Android device.
- Click Your Library on the bottom right corner of your screen.
- Scroll to find the playlist you want to delete and tap to open it.
- Press the three-dot icon at the top of the playlist.
- Tap Delete playlist from the dropdown menu.

Deleting a Spotify Playlist on iPhone or Android

Open Spotify on your Android, iPhone, or iPad. Tap the app icon that looks like black soundwaves on a green background.

Tap the playlist that you want to delete. When you open the playlist, you’ll see the tracks that you've added to the playlist.
- If you can’t find your playlist, tap Playlists at the top of the app screen.

- Tap Delete. If you see a pop-up notification to confirm your choice, select “yes” to finish deleting the playlist.

Deleting a Spotify Playlist on Desktop

Open Spotify on your desktop. Click the app icon that looks like black soundwaves on a green background.
- If you don’t have the Spotify app on your computer, open your preferred internet browser and navigate to the Spotify web player to delete playlists from Spotify.

Click the playlist that you want to delete. Find all of your Spotify playlists in the left panel on your screen. Double-click on the playlist to open it.

Mass Deleting Spotify Playlists

Open Spotify on your computer. Spotify doesn’t have a feature to delete all playlists at once on the mobile app, so you’ll need to use the computer client on Mac or Windows.

Create a new playlist folder. Next to "Your Library," click the + icon and select Create a playlist folder . [5] X Research source
- You can also press Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + N (Mac) to create a playlist folder.

Drag all the playlists you want to delete into the folder. Use your mouse to drag and drop each to-be-deleted playlist into the folder. [6] X Research source

Right-click the folder the folder and select Delete . Every playlist in that folder will be deleted!

Removing a Spotify Playlist from Your Library

Open Spotify. This method works the same whether you’re on the computer, web player, or mobile app.

Click or tap Your Library . If you’re on the mobile app, find the Your Library button at the bottom of your screen next to an icon of some shelved books. If you’re on a desktop, look for your library in the left part of the screen.

Click or tap the Playlists tab. The Playlists tab is always at the top of your screen. Clicking this tab will show you only playlists in your library and filter out other types of media.

Click or tap the playlist you want to unfollow. It will open and show you which songs it contains. [7] X Research source

Click or tap the green checkmark. The green circle with a checkmark will turn into a black-and-white plus sign. This playlist will no longer appear in your library and it will no longer be available for you to listen to offline.
- This method is for playlists that you didn’t make yourself, which is why you can’t delete them. Instead, you have to unfollow the playlists according to this set of steps.
- The playlist will still exist, so you can follow it again if you choose to in the future.

Recovering a Deleted Spotify Playlist

Log in to your Spotify account page on a desktop computer. Open the Spotify Web Player and click the small icon with your first initial in it. A dropdown menu will open—select Account from this menu. [8] X Research source

Click "Recover playlists ." On your Spotify account page , scroll down until you see Recover playlists next to a circular arrow icon. Click this text to see a page with all of your recently deleted playlists.
- Keep in mind that you can only recover a Spotify playlist within 90 days of it being deleted.
- Only recently-deleted playlists will be found on this page—otherwise, you won’t be able to get your deleted playlist back. [9] X Research source

Click "Restore" next to the playlist you want to recover. Browse through your list of recently-deleted playlists until you find the one you accidentally deleted. Select the Restore button on the right side of the screen. The playlist is now restored and will reappear in your Spotify library. [10] X Research source
