Jump farther to get an edge on your opponents

You’ve put in some time on the Fall Guys obstacle courses and maybe even earned a victory or two, but now you’re ready to really up your game and crash into the competition with the dive move. The dive launches you farther forward than a regular jump, and is a great way to save yourself from falls, avoid obstacles, and even knock down an enemy. We’ll show you how to perform a dive on any console, and give you helpful tips on how to dive your way across the finish line.

Things You Should Know

  • Press the square button on PlayStation, Y on Switch, X on Xbox, or Ctrl on PC to perform a dive.
  • Perform a jump first to get some air before you dive. Otherwise, you won’t get much distance.
  • Use the dive to land safely on platforms, dodge obstacles, and knock over other players.

When to Dive in Fall Guys

  1. Diving launches you farther forward than a regular jump. On courses with lots of moving parts, like See Saw, diving is the best way to make sure you land that precarious leap. [2] Simply press the jump button and wait until your Fall Guy is at the height of his bounce, then press the dive button for maximum distance.
  2. Fall Guys is full of dastardly traps, swinging pendulums, hoops to jump through, and rolling boulders to evade. [3] Diving is a great way to get out of the way of an oncoming obstacle. If you sense trouble, jump in the direction you want to dodge, then press the dive button while you’re still in the air to leap to safety.
  3. Your dive ability isn’t just a defensive move; it’s a useful bit of offense if you know how to time it. See a player running dangerously close to the edge of a platform? A well-aimed and well-timed dive will send you barreling into them, and send them falling off the stage. [4] Just be careful not to dive off the stage yourself!
    • Grab other players after a dive to really mess up their game. To grab, press the right trigger on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch, or shift on PC.
  4. The dive move also gives you a small burst of speed, at least while you’re in the air, so it comes in handy if you’re in a race to the finish against another opponent. Once you’re a dive’s length away away from the goal, jump and dive for a photo finish in first place. [5]
    • Note that while a dive gives you a slight burst of speed, your Fall Guy has to stand back up, which takes a moment. That means jumping and diving through the whole course isn’t actually the fastest way to go.
