The first time driving a Tesla is exciting, but it can feel a bit overwhelming if you’re unfamiliar with all of the unique features and options. While a lot of driving elements are streamlined when compared to a traditional vehicle, we get it if some of the more obscure changes are a little confusing. Luckily, we’re here to help. Read on to get everything you need to know about getting into your Tesla, operating the vehicle, and changing its various settings.
Things You Should Know
- There are no traditional keys or ignitions. Use the key card, fob, or app to get into the vehicle and start it.
- The regenerative braking automatically slows your vehicle if you don’t actively accelerate.
- Shift gears using the stick on the right (or left on the Model S). Move it down to drive and up to reverse.
- Most vehicle settings can be adjusted via the control screen in the console.
