Although Uber Driving might be great without having to show your riders your creative side, sometimes riders would like to know a little more about you and see if you are right for them, and if you haven't yet before looked around the Uber Driver app, you may find yourself asking yourself "Why haven't I set this information before?" If you haven't set it or need to fix or edit the page, this article will describe these processes.

Steps

  1. 1
Open up Uber Driver. The app on your device is black and says Uber on it, and even has a right-pointing arrow beneath it.
  2. 2
Do not go online - or be within a trip when trying to remove these notes. You won't be able to access the page that allows you to do so when online and "working".

  3. 3
Get to the page providing this access.
    • Tap your profile icon button in the top left corner of the screen (from the Uber Driver map).
    • Tap your name line which should be at the very top of the menu bar. This option also includes your current Driver rating too (already linked into it).
  4. 4
Recognize what you can set and what you can't fix.
    • Your cover image that is displayed behind your name can be set. Tap the pencil icon in the top right corner then tap the background icon (again, in the next screen's top right corner) and tap the image you'd like to set as this image. There are a variety of great images, but at this time, you can't set a personal one that you may have on your device as your background image. Otherwise, the blue cross-hatch background will be displayed to riders until you change it.
    • Your ratings and acceptance/cancellation rates line can't be fixed, nor can you fix the name displayed on this page yourself . However, you can contact Uber to have them fix your name - given you submit new documentation of your new driver's license proving this name change.
    • The next three lines can be set by you, from the same Edit Profile box where you encountered the Background image button (from the right corner). Just look for "Short description", "Add languages you know" and "Where you're from" then tap the corresponding pencil, tap, and type into the text box and set away.
    • Short description has a max character limit of 50 characters. Languages can be set by tapping any secondary languages that you know and tap "Save" in the top right corner (there's an "Add Your Own" that allows 50 characters at the very bottom if necessary). "Where you're from" (Location) also has a max limit of 50 characters, however, you probably won't need a large number of them to set at least your city (or county with designation) and state.
    • Compliments aren't removable, however, the notes set with these can be removed quite easily by following this process.
    • Achievements are able to be set. Uber will set digital "stickers" to award certain accomplishments in your Uber Driving history, such as how many 5-star trips you've had since your initial start date, and how many complete years you've driven for Uber.
  5. 5
Scroll up until your story section comes up. Here, you can really show your creative side with "Fun fact", "Other Experience" and "Why I Drive" to describe your true self.
  6. 6
Tap the three dots icon to one of the items - if you'd like to, and tap "Edit story".
  7. 7
Set your story by typing your content in the boxes provided. Each "story" can contain no more than 350 characters - spaces included, then tap the all-caps "Save" button in the top right corner.
  8. 8
Set as many of these options as you'd like.
  9. 9
Close out of your profile box by tapping the "x" in the top right corner of your profile screen.
