The Golden House is the place where you will fight Childe (Tartaglia), No. 11 of the Fatui Harbingers. During the quest "The Golden Shadow", Childe is believed to have plotted to take the Exuvia, a sacred item used by Rex Lapis. The Golden House fight can be broken into three different parts. While getting through the first two parts will be relatively easy, completing the last part will be more or less challenging. After completing this domain for the first time, you will be teleported up to the Jade Chamber to defend the Guizhong Ballistas. This wikiHow will show you how to enter the Golden House in Genshin Impact.
Steps
Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers
During the first stage of battle, you are mostly fighting Childe with his original elemental powers.
-
Start the battle for the first time. The first time you enter the Golden House, you will need to view all the cutscenes. Approach the Exuvia on the opposite end of the domain entrance. This will initialize the next cutscene and then start the battle.
-
Dodge Childe's normal attacks. Like the playable character, Childe can perform normal elemental attacks, including firing his bow with Hydro arrows, marking players with Riptide, and performing slashing attacks, while alternating between Ranged and Melee Stance.Advertisement
-
Avoid Childe's charged Hydro attack. In this attack, he lunges forward quickly at the player. This can be fast and can deal moderate damage if not dodged. To dodge this attack, dash to the side.
-
Stand back when Childe launches a blast of Hydro around him. In this attack, he charges for some time then dispenses the elemental energy directly around him, dealing area-of-effect Hydro damage to characters too close.
-
Avoid Childe's spinning slash. In this attack, Childe will spin his dagger around him, dealing Hydro damage to anyone too close to him.
-
Avoid the falling arrows. At some point, Childe will launch arrows into the air. If you see blue circles on the ground, then it means that Childe launched arrows very high and they will touch down and deal damage to players in the blue circle.
-
Dodge the waves. Childe has the ability to launch two wave attacks against the player. One is a normal wave that is summoned at the player, and another is a wave from a whale. Dodge the first by dashing. Dodge the second by moving as close the edge of the arena as possible. Note that for the second wave attack, there is no defined area-of-effect, so you should stand as far back as possible to avoid getting splashed.
-
Repeat to finish the first stage of battle. After Childe's HP reaches less than 10%, a Hydro shield will form around him, his HP bar will fill up, and the next stage of battle will commence.Advertisement
Delusion Unleashed
In this stage, Childe uses a Delusion to experiment with Electro abilities.
-
Avoid Childe's charged Electro attack. In this attack, he lunges forward quickly at the player. This can be fast and can deal moderate damage if not dodged. To dodge this attack, dash to the side.
-
Stand back when Childe launches a blast of Electro around him. In this attack, he charges for some time then dispenses the elemental energy directly around him, dealing area-of-effect Electro damage to characters too close.
-
Avoid Childe's spinning slash. In this attack, Childe will spin his dagger around him, dealing Electro damage to anyone too close to him.
-
Dodge Childe's lightning attacks. Childe can attack with lightning in two ways. One way he can do this is by plunging down into areas of the arena, dealing area-of-effect Electro damage. The other attack is the hardest to dodge. During this attack, a purple ring will form around your character. Once the ring is fully engaged, a lightning bolt will hit you, dealing Electro damage.
-
Repeat to finish the second stage of battle. After defeating Childe: Delusion Unleashed, the arena you are in will fall, and you will be taken down to the lower part of the Golden House.Advertisement
Foul Legacy: The Devouring Deep
This is the hardest part of the battle. Here, Childe will combine the powers given by his Vision and the powers by his Delusion to deal damage quickly.
-
Revive and heal your characters. In this stage, Childe will not interact until you either enter the arena or attack him. Once you are done, you can enter the arena to start the battle.
-
Avoid the falling arrows.
Dodge the first by dashing, then dodge the second by moving as close the edge of the arena as possible. Note that for the second wave attack, there is no defined area-of-effect, so you should stand as far back as possible to avoid getting splashed.
-

The other attack is the hardest to dodge. During this attack, a purple ring will form around your character. Once the ring is fully engaged, a lightning bolt will hit you, dealing Electro damage.
-
Watch the Electro wheel. Childe at some point will fling a thin, razor-sharp wheel across the arena in a circle. Avoid touching this wheel to avoid getting Electro damage.
-
Be careful of Childe's melee attacks. Childe may slash using his dagger and deal either Electro or Hydro damage. Because of this combined nature, you may end up Electro-Charged.
-
Repeat to defeat Childe. The first time you play, a cutscene will play. Subsequent times, a Ley Line blossom will spawn in the arena, and you can use it to collect rewards.Advertisement
Protecting the Guizhong Ballista
When entering the Golden House for the first time, you will be teleported after fighting with Childe, and you will have to fight the Fatui off and protect the Guizhong Ballista for several minutes.
-
Check the status of each weapon. You can see the status in the upper left corner where the story quest would be. If the status of any of the weapons go down to 0%, you will fail the challenge and have to go back to the Jade Chamber guide to reenter battle.
-
Fight off the Fatui. Several Fatui members will emerge from portals onto the Ballista. Fight them off and defend each of the weapons.
-
Avoid the Hydro attacks from Osial. These will hit the platforms and deal area-of-effect Hydro damage upon impact. You will also experience buffs throughout.
-
Continue to the end. Once you are done, you will be teleported back to Liyue Harbor and can finish the Archon quests associated with Liyue.Advertisement
Collecting Rewards
-
Locate the Trounce Blossom. This looks a bit like a wilted flower and is near the edge of the current platform you are on.
-
Use the Resin to revitalize the blossom. If you do not have enough Original Resin, you can use Fragile Resin instead.
-
Leave the domain. After completing the Trounce domain, you can exit by locating the blue gate with four squares on it.Advertisement

Tips
- Certain artifact combos can regenerate your other characters' health. Consider this when leveling up your characters in the "Characters" screen. Thanks
- You will have a better time if the party's level (i.e. average level of all characters in your party) is the same or higher than the enemy's level. Thanks
- The arena is surrounded by a Pyro forcefield that will dispel Hydro and Electro elements freely while doing minimal damage. This will also remove the Riptide mark from your character, thus significantly limiting Childe's attacks. Thanks
Warnings
- If it is obvious that your characters are losing a lot of health, leave the Trounce domain, teleport to a Statue of the Seven to regenerate health and consider fighting when your party and/or adventure level is higher. Thanks
