Did you hire a Specialist Character in Fortnite? If you're tired of the NPCs acting without directions, you can give them commands to help you in matches. You can tell them to wait at a certain location, follow you, and more. This wikiHow will show you how to give hired Specialist Characters commands in Fortnite on your PC, Xbox, PlayStation 4 or 5, or Nintendo Switch.

Things You Should Know

  • Find a Specialist Character in different parts of the map. Speak to them and select the choice to hire them in exchange for Gold.
  • On a PC, hold down the middle mouse button, and move the mouse to select a command.
  • On console, hold the left button on the D-pad, and use the right stick to select a command.
  1. In a Fortnite match , you can hire Specialist Characters to aid yourself and your team. Each character offers different abilities and services, and these characters will change with every new season. To hire a character, speak to them, and then select the icon of the character's head with a + . This will cost Gold.
    • For the current Chapter 4, Season 4, you can hire:
      • Bull Shark (Scout Specialist): located at Creeky Compound
      • Royale Bomber (Supply Specialist): located at Brutal Bastion
      • Beastmode (Heavy Specialist): located at Breakwater Bay
      • Sun Strider (Medic Specialist): located South of Eclipsed State
      • Nolan Chance (Quest): located at Frenzy Fields
      • Piper Pace (Quest): located at Slappy Shores
    • Hiring a Specialist Character can help, especially if you're trying to get better at the game.

    • You can give the following commands:
      • Move (pinpoint icon): Tell the Specialist Character to move where your crosshair currently points at.
      • Wait (open hand icon): Tell the Specialist Character to wait where they currently stand.
      • Follow (curved left arrow icon): Tell the Specialist Character to follow you around.
      • Dismiss (X icon): "Fires" your Specialist Character so you can hire another one or continue on solo.
