Hello friends, I’m (24 F) looking for interesting ideas on what to have for dinner. I’m extremely uninspired and it feels like every blog post and Pinterest board about recipes is just recycling the same ideas over and over again, just using different terms or slightly different ingredients. Give me your most unique, interested, and not-totally-impossible meal/meal prep ideas!

Hey! I totally know what you mean about seeing the same things out there over and over again. It can be relatively hard to feel your creative juices flowing when you scroll past lemon chicken and fettucine alfredo thirty times in a row. Personally, I find it really fun to pick a cuisine I know nothing about and start cooking their most popular dishes.

For me, that’s Indian food right now. I don’t have any Indian friends and I haven’t been to more than a handful of Indian restaurants in my life, so everything is so new and exciting. I’m currently broiling tandoori chicken and I’m so amped to see how it turns out. I would do that! Pick a type of cuisine you’ve never cooked and give it a shot.

Something my boyfriend and I like to do is make dishes that we see in movies and TV shows! We'll be watching something and look at each other and go "Wow that looks delicious" and then we'll look up a recipe. There's actually a YouTube channel that makes recipes from movies that we enjoy watching. We made ratatouille after watching Ratatouille and it was delicious!

I "steal" recipe Ideas from my friends. I'll either make note of what they make when I go over to their place to eat, or I'll invite them to come hang out and cook something and ask them to pick out the recipe. Everyone has their own rotation of "regular" dishes, and they're usually different from each other! So it's fun to learn about what my friends usually eat and get to experience making it with them. It's so helpful that they're already familiar with the recipe, it makes it easier to learn.

I'm not sure you can meal prep this, but one of my favorite dishes is thai noodles. I think they might be spicy, but they are amazing! I think it's a simple recipe, and again one of my favorites!

For meal prep, I would recommend cooking beef or chicken for the week with rice. You can add different toppings (lettuce, salsa, guacamole, sour cream) and create new combinations throughout the week.

Maybe you can make some chicken with rice and some water? You can also even have potatoes with it too if you'd like!
