Erik Menendez has stated that he is not gay, and the fact that he has always dated women supports this. In fact, he has been married to a woman, Tammi Menendez, since 1999.
There have always been rumors surrounding Erik’s (and Lyle’s) sexuality for several reasons. First, the prosecution in the first trial of the Menedez brothers tried to suggest that Erik had invented the story about his father’s sexual abuse, and they implied that the sexual contact was actually consensual. Second, Erik is heavily implied to be either bisexual or at least questioning his sexuality in Monsters , the Netflix limited series about Erik and Lyle. Considering how outspoken Erik has been about being straight, it’s best to not assume he’s lying.
