Okay, so I think The Touch is the scariest indie horror game I ever played and you can download it for free on itch.io. So basically, you play as a mother who has a newbown baby and you hear some spooky noises inside your house. All you have to do is walk around and discover what's going on in your home, and the scares just ramp up from there.

I'm honestly getting freaked out just thinking about it. It only takes like 5 minutes to play, but I think it's so so effective.

I tried this game out called Mouthwashing recently, and man, that was so good. The game is about a crew on a spaceship running out of the supplies they need to survive, and the story just has so many dark twists.

There's moments where you have to sneak around to avoid monsters, solve puzzles, walk through creepy atmospheres. Plus, one of the main characters has been through a big accident and he's so scary-looking.

You can get it pretty cheap on Steam, and it's definitely worth the time.

If you're looking for where to play horror indie games for free, I definitely recommend going to itch.io to see what's out there. There are a ton of free games to download there, and there are even a few that you can play right in your browser.

Some of my favorites are The Black Lamb and Go to Bed. They both have old Playstation style graphics and are about spooky locations in the dark. I get scared just thinking about them honestly. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Okay I get freaked out by the idea of someone following me, and this game called CROWDED. FOLLOWED. was incredibly tense the entire time I played. Basically, a character gives you a briefcase and suddenly this tall creepy figure starts following you wherever you go. If it ever reaches you, then it's game over.

There are tons of environements and puzzles to walk through, and you're always wondering how close the creature is to getting you. I think it captures that tense and anxious feelaing perfectly.
