Open Google Sheets. The app has a green icon with a white table inside. You’ll usually find it in the app drawer.

Tap the letter above the column you want to freeze. This highlights the column.

Tap the letter above the column again. A menu will appear.

Scroll down the menu and tap Freeze .

Tap the blue check mark. It’s at the top-left corner of the sheet. The column is now frozen in place.Advertisement

Freezing the First Column(s)

Open Google Sheets. The app has a green icon with a white table inside. You’ll usually find it in the app drawer.

Tap the file you want to edit.

Tap the Sheet button. It’s near the bottom-left corner of the screen. A menu will expand.

Scroll down to “Freeze columns” and tap. Now you’ll see “1” beside “Freeze rows.” This means the first column in the sheet is now frozen.
- To freeze the first two columns, tapagain. Tapping again will freeze the first three columns, etc.
- To unhide one of the frozen columns, tap.

Tap anywhere on the sheet. This closes the menu at the bottom of the screen.Advertisement
