How to Get the Manaphy Egg in Pokémon Ranger

You have all the Pokémon in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl except for one. This Pokémon is Manaphy, and it can only be obtained by owning Pokémon Ranger. If you press just the right buttons and use a cheat code, you can have your own Manaphy Egg as well.

Afterwards, you should have a new feature on the title screen; Ranger Net.

Turn it on, and go to the Main Menu (Continue, New Game, etc).

Congratulations, you now have the Manaphy Egg in either Diamond or Pearl!
- To hatch it, go to any PokeMart (not the department store or Pokémon league) in the Sinnoh region and talk to the man in green. He'll give you the egg (provided that you have an open spot in your Party).
- Walk roughly 2,740 steps. After that, it should hatch.

I'm playing on a secondhand copy of the game. Can I definitely obtain an egg?

It's hard to say. Because this method was so secretive, there's a solid chance that the previous owner never did this. That being said, you can only do it once per cartridge, even if you delete the save file, so there's no guarantee. If you have a 3DS with homebrew software, you can use a program called Checkpoint to completely wipe the save off of a cartridge, but it is not sure it'll work.

Do not turn off Pokémon Ranger in the middle of sending the egg. Doing so may result in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum not receiving the Egg, and Pokémon Ranger losing the ability to send and/or view the egg.
