Unturned, the popular and free Steam game that'll have players killing zombies like never before! To effectively kill zombies, players need some items first, rather than trying to kill zombies with their bare hands. This will almost always make the characters die, so looting towns before going hunting is a better solution.

Method 1
Method 1 of 4:

Locating a Town to Raid

  1. Look and see what location is nearest to you, and go there. It might be a town or it might be a campsite. Both spawn loot.
  2. If you have binoculars, look through them and see if you can spot any dangers to yourself. If you are playing on multiplayer, check for other players running around the town. They might shoot you on sight. Also look where business buildings, such as gas stations, police station, fire station, laundromat, practitioners, and diners. These will spawn loot specific to their location, while all houses have the same item spawn rates.

Method 2 of 4:

Looting a House

  1. If there are zombies around it, crouch or go prone to avoid detection. Once inside, look around the house for zombies and items.
  2. Some food items will spawn inside a kitchen cupboard, and will be out of sight unless you open it.
  3. Many melee weapons, such as rakes, shovels, kitchen knives, and baseball bats spawn in homes. These will stun zombies and allow players to kill them easily.

Method 3 of 4:

Looting a Building

  1. If it is a diner, gas station, or BJK, it will spawn food. Police and fire stations spawn gear accustomed to their station, and practitioners spawn medical supplies. Go for the building which loot you need the most.
  2. It is not advised to 1v1 a zombie with just your bare fists, so try to find a melee weapon first.
  3. Like houses, you want to open doors and search every space for items you can. Beware of the zombies in business buildings, as these are tougher than civilian zombies.

Method 4
Method 4 of 4:

Slay the Occupents.

  1. Unless you don't want to kill the zombies, your newly acquired loot should be sufficient enough to allow you to kill all zombies remaining. If you don't want to hunt them down, throw flares into the streets or shoot your gun. This will alert the zombies and have them come out, right into your crosshairs.
  2. Depending on the type of zombie, they will drop the same kind of loot that spawns in their respective building. Killing zombies will also provide you with experience, which you can use to level up your character's stats.

Can I build a base there?

Absolutely! Gather some wood or metal, using a fire axe, chainsaw or by blowing up cars, and craft doors, pillars, walls, etc. Make sure your base is in a defensible position, it will be annoying for zombies to come to your door every 5 minutes. Make sure to select a place you will enjoy living in, and that you are not vulnerable while building.

      • Gas Stations will spawn flares, which can draw zombies to one spot in an emergency.
      • Gas stations also have a chance to spawn a car outside. Take it and use it to get to the next town.

      Warnings

      • Opening cupboards and cabinets might produce a noise loud enough to attract zombies. Constantly be on the watch in case you are noticed.
      • Guns will make a loud noise once shot unless you have a military muffler on. This noise will almost always attract 1-2 zombies. Watch your back, but they will go to the spot where the gun was when it was fired. You can sneak around and shoot them from a safe distance.
      • Keep an eye out for your food, water, and radiation levels. If these go below 50%, head towards a diner or practitioners office.
