Steps

For the potassium nitrate, mix the potassium with sugar in a container, at the ratio of 1:1.

Then take a piece of shoelace, and soak it in water for several seconds, and then place in the container of potassium and sugar, so that the string is fully coated.

Take the string and then let it sit flat out, so it can dry for 24 hours.

And there you have your homemade fuse for smoke bombs, along with any other bomb that needs a fuse.
