This wikiHow teaches you how to create a chart or graph from Google Spreadsheet data on an Android phone or tablet.

Steps

  1. It’s the green icon with a white outline of a spreadsheet. You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.
  2. Tap the spreadsheet’s name to open it, or tap + and select New Spreadsheet to start from scratch.

  3. To highlight multiple cells, tap the first cell you want to include, then drag the circle at its bottom-right corner to include additional cells.
  4. It’s near the top-right corner of the screen.
  5. It’s in the menu near the bottom of the screen.
  6. A list of graph layouts will appear.
  7. Choose one of the suggestions under “Recommended,” or scroll down to select a different option. A preview will appear at the top of the screen.
  8. This brings you back to the previous screen.
  9. The remaining options all deal with the way your chart appears on the screen. When finished with each option, tapto return to the list.
    • Tap Legend to choose where on the graph the legend should appear.
    • Tap Titles to rename the graph and/or the names of its axes.
    • Tap Color to change the color of different graph elements, such as bars or pie slices.
  10. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen. Your chart now appears on the spreadsheet. Since it’s placed in an arbitrary location, you’ll probably want to move and/or resize it.
  11. This outlines the graph in blue. Additionally, a menu will appear.
  12. Dragging the dot on one of the graph’s corners inward decreases its size, and dragging it outward makes it larger.
  13. To move it somewhere on the sheet, just drag it to that spot. If you want the graph to be on its own sheet, tap next to “Delete” and select Move to Own Sheet .
  14. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen. Your graph now appears in its new location with its data intact.
    • To edit the graph, tap and hold it until the menu appears, then select Edit Chart .
    • To delete the graph, tap and hold it until the menu appears, then select Delete .
