Quick and simple slideshow-making tutorials
Do you want to create a slideshow on Facebook? Unfortunately, this feature is no longer available on Facebook for many people. You can, however, very easily use third-party software or apps to create slideshows and then post them on Facebook; or you can create a Reel with photos on Facebook. Alternatively, if you have a Page, you can create an ad slideshow using Ads Manager. Read on to learn more about using a third-party service to create a slideshow and post it on Facebook.
Steps
-
Open Facebook. Tap the Facebook app icon, which resembles a white "f" on a dark-blue background. This will open your News Feed page if you're logged into Facebook.
- If you aren't logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password when prompted, then tap Log In .
- The feature to create a slideshow from your "What's on your mind?" box no longer exists. You can, however, create a video of pictures by creating a Reel.
- You can do this using the mobile app. You can only upload videos using the desktop site.
-
Create a Reel. Do this by logging into the Page or personal account where you want to share the video slideshow, then go to your profile, tap Videos > Create reel . You can also tap the Reels tab and select Create reel at the top of your personal feed, or tap the Create reel button at the top of your Page's feed.
- Tap Select multiple to include more than one photo in your Reel, then tap to select the photos on your smartphone or tablet.
- Tap Next and a random sound will be applied to your photo slideshow. Tap a different recommended song to change it, or tap Search to find a specific song.
- Tap Next to continue. You can add text, stickers, effects, or save the slideshow to your phone's storage. Tap Edit to change the background sound's placement, lengthen or shorten photos on screen, or adjust the order in which they appear.
- Tap Next and you can edit and adjust your post, including the Reel's description, audience, and topic tags.

Select a slideshow to use. Once you log into your Canva account, type slideshow video to find a template to start with.
- Canva accounts are free, but you can pay to unlock premium features.
- Click on a template you like and click Customize this template . If you see "$" on a template, it contains paid features. You can still customize the template for free if you don't use the premium feature.
- If you see a crown icon on a template, it's a Pro feature and you'll need to pay a subscription fee to be able to use it.
-
Customize the template. Click inside text boxes to edit the text or click the trashcan icon to delete it. You can also delete other elements, like shapes or objects.
- Click the Elements tab on the left side of your screen to add elements like frames or audio.
- Click the Uploads
tab to add images that you've already uploaded. You can simply drag and drop the image from the section on the left side of the page to your slideshow.
- Click Upload files if you want to upload a different image.
- To preview your video, press the play icon to the right of the timeline.
-
Share your video with your Facebook page. Click Share in the upper right corner and select ••• / See all > Facebook Page . If your account isn't already linked with Canva, you'll be prompted to connect them now. Write something for the post, if you want, then click Publish . This will only share the slideshow video to your Page, not your profile.
- If you want to share the slideshow video on your personal account, click Share > See all > Download and then upload it as a Reel on Facebook.
