QuestionCan I make the board longer than the length of the tire so it stops if it goes too far forward or back?Community AnswerIf you add two blocks on the outside of the tire on the front and back side of the curvature, I think that should regulate the forward and backward travel. Or you can be creative and add 1 inch diameter poles as legs or feet, depending on what type of rocker you plan on making.

QuestionCan I add planks of wood so my daughter has a place to put her feet?Community AnswerYes, this would be a great idea. Just make sure there are no nails sticking out.

Tips
About This Article
To make a seat out of a tire, first clean a tire by spraying it down with a hose. Then, set it on the ground and use a pilot drill bit to drill 16 holes around it that are equidistant from one another. Next, paint the sides of the tire using either spray paint or acrylic paint. There's no need to paint the top or bottom of the tire since you won't be able to see them. Let the paint dry completely, then weave a long piece of rope through the drilled holes to create a grid, pulling the rope as taut as possible. Cut off the two ends once you're finished making the grid, and tie a knot at each end that sits flush against the underside of the tire. You can use your tire seat as is, or you can add a round seat cushion on top of the grid for extra comfort.
