    There are loose corners on the inside of the figure from where you folded the outer edges in. The bottom of those edges that are in the middle are folded into triangles.

    On each side of the triangle, you should have two layers, a top layer and a bottom layer. This step means that you fold the left top layer to the center crease and the right top layer to the center crease.

    No, you don't need square paper. You can use regular rectangular printer paper when folding this box.
