Bethesda's Fallout 76 is the first online multiplayer game in the massively popular post-apocalyptic role-playing/shooter game series, Fallout. While a great many precautionary measures have been taken to reduce "griefing" amongst players, for those with a taste for killing your fellow survivors, there exists a special mode. Scroll down to Step 1 to learn the basics of Hunter/Hunted.

Steps

  1. 1
Level up to level 5. Player vs. Player mode is only activated upon reaching level 5. Earn experience through other means until you reach level 5.
  2. 2
Bring up your Pip-Boy. Switch over to the Radio section. There you will see a radio station titled "Hunter/Hunted". Tune in to that station.

  3. 3
Begin the hunt. Upon tuning in, you will have activated Hunter/Hunted. This will pit you against a maximum of five other players in the vicinity who have done the same.
  4. 4
Kill the other players. Players who are engaged in Hunter/Hunted will automatically be listed as enemies. Show no mercy.
  5. 5
Stay alive for as long as possible. The goal is to be the last player standing. You will receive better loot than from a standard PvP match if you survive. When all other players are dead, you win the match.
  6. 6
Tune out from the Hunter/Hunted radio station once you are finished. Or, if you're a brute of a wastelander, tune in again.

      Tips

      • If you don't think you can win a fight, try fleeing. Let the other players duke it out, and pick off the winners.
      • Never be still. Warning shots are disabled as soon as you enter this game mode, so the first time you are attacked, you will absolutely feel it.
      • Make sure you have a good supply of medicine before entering Hunter/Hunted. You will have to be quick, but one Stimpack goes a long way.

      Warnings

      • Be mindful of the gear you have when entering Hunter/Hunted. Sure, it would help to win some much-needed loot, but ammo is scarce in the wasteland. Always consider if the risk is worth the reward before joining.
      • There is no passive mode in Hunter/Hunted. To finish, you must either kill all other players, or be killed yourself.
      • There are no allies in this game mode. Don't even think about teaming up with another player.
