Why does it give me a black screen when I open the ROM?

You need to have the ROM hack saved in a folder or on your main tab. Also, check your internet connection and make sure you have at least 5 GB of memory available.

"Brutally difficult" is not an exaggeration. The game really is that hard - you don't want to play it if you're not already experienced with Super Mario World. If you want to get a feel of its difficulty, there are plenty of videos of the game available on YouTube.
