Sebaceous cysts are small (1-2 mm), soft, skin-colored to pale yellow bumps that arise on the skin when pores or hair follicles get clogged. These blockages prevent sebum (skin oil) from escaping. They are most common on the face (usually the forehead), neck, and torso. Sebaceous cysts are harmless, but can be unsightly and occasionally get inflamed.
