There's a default password for your router, and it should be printed on the back of your router. If it isn't there, it should be in instruction manual or on the box. I'd recommend changing it as soon as possible, since the default password is usually pretty weak.

  • Question
How do I access my router through my phone?
    Community Answer
From a computer first, check the router's administrative settings for external administration. There is usually a checkbox or a button to enable this access. The information on this page should also tell you what port to use. Once enabled, type your external IP address and port. It will be a series of numbers and dots. After that you should be greeted with the router's welcome screen.
  • Question
How do I change the router password?
    Community Answer
In Windows, open "cmd" from the start menu or press the Windows key + R at the same time to open the "Run Line". Then type cmd. In command prompt, type "ipconfig /all" and check the information for a default gateway. Open a browser and type the IP address of the default gateway and press enter. If you know the current login info, then log in; otherwise check your user manual for defaults. Once inside, look for any tabs/links that mention Administration. You should find a place to change the router's password. If you want to reset it back to default password, then perform a factory reset, often done by holding in the pinhole button for several seconds. This will reset everything in the router.
