    Expert Answer
If you're specifically trying to hit a home run, you need a slightly exaggerate load when you lift your front foot, lean back a little, and plant your foot. Focus on swinging flat through the ball and driving it all the way through your swing. If you just try to hit the bottom half of the ball, you're going to pop up a lot of the time.
  • Question
At what age should a person start to be able to hit home runs?

There's no set age. The field size changes as you move up through the leagues, so it's possible to hit a home run at almost any age. Also, If you're a fast runner, you may be able to hit an "inside-the-park" home run even if you can't hit the ball over the outfield fence.

If you are always on top of the ball, you might want to consider taking a step or two back in the box. That way, the ball can take a little extra time to move lower in the zone.
