    Expert Answer
The only thing that I don't suggest is to come with greasy hair. It always should be applied on clean hair and with no products in there.

    Expert Answer
Do your research and use high-quality hair. Don't use the cheapest hair you can get because you pay for what you get. Look at the work of the people who do the extensions. Look at if they're doing clean lines, clean installation, and that they're using high-quality hair.
  • Question
Do I have to heat the keratin first, before applying them to my hair?
    Community Answer
No. You have to hold the extensions against your hair and then apply the heat. Heating the keratin on the hair creates a bond that attaches it. You then roll the extension to secure it.
  • Question
Can I put my hair extensions in myself?
    Community Answer
Yes, but you will need a lot of mirrors and a lot of time. Plan on an hour and a half to two hours for every 50 you're applying if you're working alone.
  • Question
Can I apply these extensions with a flat iron if I don't have the tool?
    Community Answer
    Yes, but it's very tedious.
  • Question
    How long do they last?
    Community Answer
Fusion extensions last up to 6 months.
  • Question
Can I use the heat method with I-tipped instead of U-tipped fusion hair?
    Community Answer
No. I-tipped extensions are a different form of extensions, not to be melted.
  • Question
Should I use pre-bonded or heat ironing?
    Community Answer
Pre-bonded is the perfect professional tool.
  • Question
Where can I get a hot fusion kit with the hair to go with it?
    Community Answer
Amazon, eBay, and some ethnic hair stores. I used to see them at Sally's, but I think they've discontinued selling them. You can get a better price on Amazon anyway.
  • Question
What if I don't have pre-bonded hair and I want hot fusion hair extensions?
    Community Answer
Use a low temperature glue gun with keratin glue. Cut some hair off the weft, glue over and under the hair and wait several seconds. Then, the goal is to close the entire bond around the entire piece of hair you're gluing it to, so roll as gently as you can while still making sure the bond is closed at the top and bottom.
  • Question
How do you remove them later?
    Community Answer
You have to apply a removing solvent (alcohol-based) to the keratin bond and break it apart with pliers. Then comb out the leftover keratin from your hair.
