  • Question
    What does “bench” mean?
    Cool⚡️KID

Your bench is where all of your Basic Pokémon go. If you don’t have more than one basic Pokémon, that’s okay. You don’t need a bench.
  • Question
How do I retreat my Pokémon?
    Cool⚡️KID
    Community Answer
To retreat a Pokémon, you need to look at the energy cost. Then, put that much energy in that Pokémon in order to retreat it.
  • Question
Is this mostly one on one matches, and can it be played without energy?
    Cool⚡️KID
    Community Answer
Yes. This game is a one-on-one game, since it is designed for only two people to play at a time. You can't play the game without energy cards, unless you use Pokemon cards that all have attacks that don't require energy.
  • Question
How can I use an ability?

Energy simply fuels the attacks. There are some cards called "special energy" that have extra effects.
  • Question
Do you discard energy cards after attacking?
    Community Answer
No. The energy will always stay on the Pokemon. You simply need to have them attached to attack. You only discard energy if it specifically tells you to.
  • Question
Can you take Pokemon off the bench back in to your hand?
    Community Answer
No, not unless stated by its effect or an effect on the field, you cannot ever do this.
  • Question
Can a Pokemon do more than 1 attack per turn if it has the energy to do so?
    Blaziken77g
    Community Answer
Unfortunately, no. 2 attacks would be fairly OP, no matter what. Stacking energy (unless it has an attack that sends energy to the discard) is useless and a waste as you then have to wait for the Pokemon to get KO'd and even then, the energy goes to the discard.
  • Question
Does this energy stay with this Pokemon or do I discard it?
    Blaziken77g
    Community Answer
At the end of the day, it depends on the description of the attack. For most attacks, no! You don't have to discard energy after using an attack. Just make sure that you read the effect text (if there is anything).
  • Question
If you attack and knock out an opponent's active Pokemon, the opponent's Pokemon and any energy cards go into their discard pile. Does the attacking Pokemon and its energy go into a discard pile also?
    ICSIH
    Community Answer
No. The only time a Pokemon goes into the discard pile is when it is knocked out. The attacking Pokemon does not go into the discard pile unless the instructions under the attack say so.
