  • Question
Why isn't wheat listed as one of the high items? It is sprayed with huge amounts of Roundup right before harvest to force sprout it. Gluten intolerance may mostly be pesticide poisoning.
    Community Answer
You have a very valid point. Unfortunately, before the EPA and FDA even take the steps to do a proper and unbiased study on this, they will take another paycheck from Monsanto with no remorse or regard for humanity.
  • Question
I eat brown rice. Is that also sprayed with huge amounts of Roundup right before harvest? Should I be eating white rice instead?
    Community Answer
If it is not 100% organic, it most likely is. Wheat and grains have some of the highest contamination of all foods.
  • Question
How is it that glysophate begins the article as an herbicide and later becomes a pesticide?
    Community Answer
Before glyphosate received a patent as a herbicide, it was patented as an antibiotic., Thus, it can kill pests (as well as bacteria). It kills the good bacteria in the soil and these bacteria are required to metabolize minerals for the plant.
  • Question
Is there a study regarding glyphosphate passing through the blood/brain barrier, specifically in infants and children. Could it lead to autism or other disorders?
    Community Answer
Research Stephanie Seneff from MIT, who has been informing consumers about many health issues in our modern times, including autism. I just heard her speak and she did include the near epidemic incidence of autism as a result of glyphosphate.
  • Question
Does oat milk contain this ingredient?
    Community Answer
Oats are sprayed with glyphosate before harvesting, just like wheat. If possible, buy organic/100% organic.
  • Question
For quinoa, how can toxins be removed? My family is gluten free but eat quinoa 3-4 times a week. Is this safe?
    Community Answer
Rinse well in a strainer. Quinoa is not a wheat-based (i.e. gluten product). Yes, you may eat it 3-4 times a week.
  • Question

  • Question
Is there a safe way to eat almonds and sweet potatoes and avoid glyphosate residue?
    Community Answer
Buy organic. If you can't find organic sweet potatoes, wash and dry your non-organic sweet potatoes as described in the article and peel the skins off prior to cooking.
  • Question
Can I wash the glyphosate chemicals out of almonds to make them safe?
    Community Answer
No. You can wash out some, but never 100%; the chemicals could reach inside the almond.
  • Question
How do I know if something is 100% organic versus just organic?
    Community Answer
It should be indicated on the label. If you're unsure, just call the company's customer service line.
  • Question
If corn products say non-GMO and organic, are they safe to eat?
    Community Answer
Not with 100% certainty. Small airplanes sometimes spray Roundup and other agents, which can go anywhere the wind will blow. And sometimes the pilot will make a mistake where to spray.

Any cereal that has wheat or oats as the main ingredient.
  • Question

  • Question
Are chemicals used as pesticides for organic farming more lethal than glyphosate?

  • Question
What are the best brands of oatmeal and quinoa that don't have glyphosate?

  • Question
Can probiotics be affected with glyphosate?
    Community Answer
Absolutely! This is the main problem with glyphosate. It is a pesticide and good and bad bacteria are vulnerable. This is what many scientists believe is the cause of many forms of cancer.
  • Question
Is Trader Joe's a health food store?
    Community Answer
No more so than any grocery store; people simply pay more for the label. Trader Joe's has a lot of foods that are GMO and full of glyphosate. In my area, I have never seen any organic labels on their food.
  • Question
What product can be used to soak, then rinse fruit and vegetables to eliminate glyphosate residue?
    Community Answer
You cannot completely remove glyphosate by rinsing it, because it is absorbed into the plant. But the details above describe how to at least decrease the amount of glyphosate on your food through soaking it in water and baking soda, rinsing thoroughly, and then peeling the vegetable/fruit.
  • Question
Does rinsing flax seed in a colander and then drying it in the oven remove toxic herbicides and insecticides?
    Community Answer
That sounds more difficult than buying organic flax. Flax seeds are healthy because of the healthy fats (unsaturated). The fat (alpha-linolelic acid) in flax that is important for human healthy is sensitive to oxidative stress (temperature and light). The best storage to keep this from happening are the seeds themselves. And even then the seeds can go rancid over time. When you wet them, it tells the seed it's time to release the nutrients so the plant can grow. The seeds get gelatinous and won't keep.
  • Question
If I buy organic soy products, does the organic label make a difference when avoiding glyphosate residue?
    Community Answer
Yes, because the use of glyphosate is prohibited in organic agriculture. That being said, even organic crops can have some contamination that drifts across from treated crops but it's always going to be significantly less residue.
