  • Question
I'm not sure that I can be a successful You Tuber, and I'm really scared of that. How can I improve myself?
    Community Answer
Think positively! I'm sure you have some great ideas. Just put some thought into your videos and be patient while growing your audience. Also, keep in mind that everyone starts at the bottom, and that everybody fails sometimes. If you live your whole life scared about failure, you'll never accomplish anything because you'll never try!
  • Question
What if I am making videos, but nobody is watching them?
    Community Answer
Its all about catching the viewers' attention. It can be as simple as tweaking the phrasing of the video title, and the first 10-20 seconds make a big difference, too.
  • Question
I'm a teen and I want to start YouTubing, but I have my school work, which is more important. How do I make time for my videos?
    Ma_Doge_Is_Lit_Bruh
    Community Answer
You can slowly build up content for videos and then post them after you have about ten so you have spare videos if you have lots of homework, etc. Also, don't post too often so subscribers don't expect lots of videos and aren't disappointed.
  • Question
I've noticed that popular YouTubers are involved with comedy, but I'm not really funny. How can I try to be better?
    FoxGirl The Meme Girl
    Community Answer
Just try to think about having a PMA (positive mental attitude) and saying things that would make you laugh when doing commentary. Do and say things YOU would like to see and that would keep YOU entertained. Try to have a fun and playful state of mind, and you may discover that you're funnier than you thought you were!
  • Question
How can I make sure I talk smoothly and do not hesitate?
    Community Answer
Practice what you’re going to say. You can also jot down some notes to cue you, but, really, lots of practice in advance is best. You basically want to have what you're going to say memorized.
  • Question
I've practiced making videos in my mind for a few years, but I'm afraid if I get started I will run out of things to say! How can I ensure this doesn't happen?
    Community Answer
You won't run out of things to say. Just practice beforehand, and even write notes to look at as needed while filming, just in case you forget something. Once you do a few videos, it will become a lot easier.
  • Question
What can I do if I'm camera shy?
    Community Answer
All you can do is practice often. The more you practice, the more comfortable you will feel talking in front of the camera.
  • Question
Can I use the in-game recording feature, or is a video camera required?
    Community Answer
It's better to use the recording feature if you are a streamer. You can use a video camera if you are a YouTuber.
  • Question
What if my computer can't take the data or software to make a good YouTube video?
    Community Answer
Try deleting unnecessary content on your computer. If your computer's content is full because of so many files, try saving them to a USB flash drive.
  • Question
Is it okay to do YouTube videos on a mobile phone?
    Community Answer
It's OK to get started, but you'll want something with better audio (and perhaps video) quality to attract viewers.
  • Question
I want to make a vlog channel but I don't have any siblings or friends to help me out. What can I do?
    Louise_eats_sand
    Community Answer
Hire small YouTubers to help you edit. Maybe write scripts, voice act for skits, etc. Maybe get your parents in on it (but that may be hard).
  • Question
Do you have any ideas of what to make a YouTube channel about?

  • Question
I want to become a YouTuber but I never asked my mom. And I am scared she might say no. What can I do?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
Sometimes you just have to face that fear and do the thing that scares you. Think of it this way - would you be less scared if you made the videos behind her back, constantly worrying she'll find out? Likely your answer is a big "no." Prepare a little talk and a sample video for your mom to watch, then make a time to sit down together to discuss your hope. You never know, she might say yes, and you will increase your chances of a positive answer if you put the planning effort in first.
  • Question
What if my family wants to be in the same video?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
This could be fun provided they go along with the theme or content of your video. Have you asked them first why they want to be in it and second, what they intend to contribute? Why not go ahead and make the video to appease their wishes, then upload it on the private setting, and play it to them? That way, they can decide if it's still a good idea or not and maybe share it with other family members to get their feedback first. If it doesn't work, you won't have to persuade them otherwise but if it works out great, then you might have a new fun family channel in the making!
  • Question
I'm afraid I won't have a good device to start recording on. What do you recommend?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
Use your laptop, desktop or phone to begin with. As long as they are recent, they will have good camera and sound recording abilities. After you've made more videos, you'll start gaining a better idea of what you need most from recording gear and can begin to comparison shop for cameras and microphones that work best for the genre of your videos.
  • Question
What if I don't want to talk or show my face?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
There are many YouTubers who don't show their face or talk on their videos. Some people use animations in place of themselves, others use picture shows (still images turned into a film format) and most people use some form of text overlay to inform viewers, even when they talk and show their face. Another option is a voice changer or computer-assisted voice if you don't want your real voice heard. Just be aware though that it can be harder to enthuse viewers when the YouTuber is absent or unclear.
  • Question
Can you make videos on a computer and if yes how?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
Absolutely, yes! You can use your computer's camera and microphone to record videos and you can use your computer to edit with. You may find a laptop/notebook is easier for filming as it can be moved around but a desktop can work too. For editing, if you have a Mac, you could use iMovie or Final Cut Pro or if you have Windows, you could use Filmora and Moviemaker. These are just some examples for editing programs; do some exploring to work out what fits best for you.
  • Question
Should I wait for good equipment like camera, lighting, etc., and also a good room decor?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
Quality of video is important to viewers but you don't need to spend a lot to begin with. For starters, use a basic camera, such as one that's built into your laptop or phone. As you record more videos, you will get a good idea about what features you'd use most in a higher quality camera, which can then give you the necessary knowledge to successfully comparison-shop. As for decor, a basic and tidy background will work well and try to use natural window lighting or a good room light initially. As with the camera, as your channel grows, you can invest in better lighting later.
  • Question
I am a teen who is trying to do YouTube secretly (without my parents knowing) and I cannot turn my mic on due to that reason. What should I do?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
Do you want to be afraid every time you make a YouTube video? How long do you realistically think you can do this without some family member or friend telling your parents what you're up to? Have courage and talk to your parents about wanting to do this. Make a video first (keep it on your computer or phone only) and show it to them as part of your talk so they'll know what exactly it is you're hoping to do. This is far better than sneaking around and feeling afraid every time, with the very big likelihood you'll be found out some day.
  • Question
Help, my mom wants to stop me from being a YouTuber, but I want to be one. Advice?
    Isolde
    Top Answerer
Ask your mom for a "family meeting." Sit down somewhere quiet and comfortable and let her know you want to talk about her reasons for not wanting you to become a YouTuber. Let her talk and explain her side of things. Then respond kindly, thoughtfully and without irritation. If there are things you need to research before answering, let her know you'll think over her reasons and come back later. If her reasons are sound ones, like you being too young yet or fear of exposure, then consider waiting longer as she has your best interests at heart. Otherwise, show her some private videos to help her see what it is you are hoping to do: the examples might help convince her.
  • Question
What do I do if my parents won't let me do YouTube videos?
    Community Answer
Try and tell them why. My parents agreed to this because I told them I wanted to be an actor when I grew up.
  • Question
What can I do if I don't have a good background for my videos?
    Community Answer
Try using a colorful sheet, or wrapping paper, or you can just use a plain colored background.
  • Question
What do I do if I post YouTube videos but no one views them?
    Community Answer
You have to wait because YouTubers won't get views automatically. As you get more popular, your views and subscribers appear faster.
  • Question
How can I be a perfect YouTuber?
    Community Answer
There isn't such thing as a perfect Youtuber. Most of the lives and acts on YouTube are staged and unless you want a staged life, just be you.
  • Question

  • Question
