I believe the 11 Rules of the Earth were created in order to deter people from joining Satanism as an excuse for poor social conduct. In Satanism, all rules are simply guidelines. The Satanic "Sins" are called such as a deliberate mockery, and are merely just behaviors that should be avoided by a Satanist. The article listing them on the Church of Satan's website clarifies this, I believe. Google "descriptions philosophies and justifications of satanism". The first website has some excellent material further explaining these questions.

Start with atheism, your lack of belief in Christian principles, perhaps come out as homosexual, then very slowly introduce them to your interest in Satanism. That's a lot to get through. Take it very slow and cautious, be calm, and know when not to push it. I would let them ask about it, you don't have to be the one starting the conversations.

There are Left Hand Path organizations and groups that teach Vampirism as a philosophy and spiritual practice.
