Yes. The best place to start is with go-karts. It’s relatively cheap, and kids as young as cfive or sixan compete. This will teach racing basics and open many more disciplines and divisions. Teenagers can benefit from karting, too, but are able to compete in SCCA with parental approval and a valid driver's license.

It is not easy and you need to be very devoted, and you need to have the talent.
