It depends on whether you're factoring in the cost not just of the materials, but also of the equipment. The deck alone will be about $10, but with the addition of equipment it'll be more expensive, perhaps around $100. Buying a skateboard at a skate shop will probably be in the range of $35-60.

If you have just made the mistake, you can usually easily pull the tape up slowly, and if you can't, you can use a heat gun, or in some cases a simple hair dryer on high heat.
