  • Question
What size router do I need to reach a separate building 100 feet away with an extender?
    Community Answer
You would want to use cables for something like that. 100 ft is just too far for a router.
  • Question
How do I change the password on a wireless router?
    Community Answer
Google the brand of your router for the login (ie Linksys is always 192.168.1.1 username: admin password: leave blank). Type in the IP address in a web browser and you'll be taken to the GUI. Look for Security to change the password you just used to login. Look for WIFI to change your wifi password.

Searching for a Linksys (or compatible) router for Belkin AC1200; 2200 sq. ft. 3 level home, 8 devices including a laptop and all in 1 printer, movie streaming, separate modem and cell phones. The ISP is Charter Spectrum.

It looks like the Linksys E5400 Wi-Fi router would be a good replacement. It should work well for regular internet browsing, and is also an AC1200 router. I would recommend putting it on the middle level, since that will allow for the best coverage.
  • Question
I need something to cover a house that is 2400 feet, high. For gaming and 3 in online school full time. We just changed from cable to streaming 7 TVs, 7 phones with Wi-Fi, any ideas?

You are going to have to get a rather expensive router for this. A router rated as AX5400 or higher should work. Do note that these are quite expensive. Try to look at different manufacturers to find the lowest price. You can also search for open box routers, which may be cheaper. If you still can't afford it, then you could probably go down a bit to find one more affordable, otherwise, try to cut down on the streaming.
  • Question
We have 3 iPhones, 3 iPads, 2 laptops, 4 fire sticks, a Nintendo Switch, and an Xbox One. What kind of router do I need to support these devices?

Assuming that you're not going to be streaming on all these devices at once, then an AC750 or perhaps an AC1000 grade router should work well. Use the AC1000 if you're going to steam more. These types are fairly inexpensive.

An AC1900 grade router should work well for you. You could also probably go down a bit. These can be somewhat expensive though. Try to look at different manufacturers and stores, and wait for sales to get the best deal.
  • Question
What is a good Wi-Fi router for a small ranch home? I have an iPad and one smart TV. I am also going to cut cable, so I will be getting Netflix. Is one better than another for hearing legibility?

Just about any router should work in your case. The sound quality should not be affected too much by your quality. Don't look at bottom-of-the-barrel ones, but also don't let the salesperson upsell you.
  • Question
If I need a router in the second floor to reach the third floor, what should I choose?

Almost any router should reach the third floor okay if it's on the second floor. If you are having trouble, then you probably need a Wi-Fi range extender to extend the wireless range. If you're still having issues, then a powerline adapter, which can send the internet signal over the electric lines, should work.
