How do I make the reader feel as if they are actually in the scene?

Try and picture the scene in your mind. Use sensory words (relating to smell, touch, taste, sight, and hearing) to really help add dimension. Look at a picture and describe some features you like in the picture if you are stuck for ideas. Don't forget to find great adjectives in a thesaurus!
