  • Question
Will we have a good cut after cutting it with a hand saw?
    Community Answer
It depends on how much time you invest in sawing it. If you do it smoothly, it should be as good as with circular saw.
  • Question
    How many 2 x 4 sheets of plywood make a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood?
    Community Answer
You would need four 2 x 4 sheets.
  • Question
Should good side of plywood be up or down when cutting with a hand saw?
    Community Answer
It depends on the way the teeth are facing. If it cuts forward, then the good side should be up. If it cuts backward, then the bad side should be up; the teeth might rip the wood, and you don't want the good side damaged.
  • Question
Which of these options give the best consistent cuts?
    Donagan

A table saw does the best job, but with practice any of the methods can yield good results.
  • Question
Can you cut plywood with a bow saw?
    Donagan
    Top Answerer
Yes, if you're really careful. It could be a problem, however, because the blade is so flexible. It's better to use a crosscut saw with fairly fine teeth or a table saw.
  • Question

    Donagan
    Top Answerer
Mark off 1 7/8" and remove it with a crosscut saw or a table saw.
  • Question
How do you cut .3 cm off a piece of 1cm thick plywood? Our kitchen drawer fronts are a fraction too big in length and width.
    Donagan
    Top Answerer
A table saw would do it quickly and easily. If you don't have that, you could use an electric jigsaw (sabre saw), a handheld hacksaw or even a belt sander.
  • Question
If I need to cut on a small scale (that is making a square hole in a sheet of plywood only 16mm thick) what tool must I use?
    Donagan
    Top Answerer
It depends on the size of the hole you're cutting. If it's big enough, you could drill a hole at one corner and carefully cut around the square with a handheld or electric sabre saw or jigsaw. For a smaller hole, you could use a chisel and wood file or rasp.
