  • Question
Why are non-Mormons not allowed in the temple when they marry?
    Katie Arledge Rutan
    Community Answer
Many Mormons are also not allowed into the temple, not just non-Mormons. To enter the temple, you must reach a certain standard within the church and follow certain rules because the Temple is the literal House of God. To enter the temple you first must be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. After doing that you must obey church rules and talk with your Bishop about entering the temple. Church rules mean obeying the law of chastity, obeying the word of wisdom, paying regular tithing, attending regular church meetings, and having a testimony of the Church and its teachings. After talking with your bishop and you have decided you are ready then you may enter the temple.
  • Question
How do I tell my parents I broke the law of chastity?

Either just tell them privately, or talk to your bishop first and ask for his help and advice on what to do. If you tell your parents first they will likely tell you to talk to the bishop.

  • Question
If a Mormon girl became pregnant by someone from a different religion before they were married, would she be excommunicated from the Mormon church?
    Community Answer
It is possible; however, excommunication usually is for those who are members of the church who openly put down the church, and are against it. If the girl in question accepts what she did and is willing to fix her mistakes and truly repent, then she probably won't be excommunicated. She might be asked to marry the man who got her pregnant, or to give the baby up for adoption. All sexual sin is considered serious, and having a baby makes it more serious.
  • Question
I want to date a Mormon who is 15 years old and he will be 16 soon. I'm 16 now, but I am Catholic and not going to convert at all. Will religion get in the way and will it be a bad relationship?
    Community Answer
Religion gets in the way of parents' attitudes more often than for the couple. After committing, there might be differences in the way you both worship, where you worship and how you spend holy days. If you see it happening, then with mutual respect, give each other space, and it won't be difficult. If you know your and his family, then you can know what they have in mind about other religions and your future family. So, it is best to ask or think about how they think about other religions. Either way, if love is strong and there's understanding, then everything can be worked out.
  • Question
is it bad if you feel awkward around the guy/girl whom you asked out after you put yourself out there to ask them out?

  • Question
I like this one guy and he's of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as myself. We're both not 16 yet and I'm wondering how I can tell if he likes me back in this circumstance?
    Community Answer
While you both are underage or not adults yet, it may be wise to just be friends and smile and talk together. Just like your school friends, this friendship may also take its own shape. Start with greeting at church and avoid seeming desperate about confessing too much too soon. If he also likes you back, he will ask you to meet him, call him and spend more time together.
