QuestionI want a pixie cut, but my mom said no. I'm also worried my friend's brother will make fun of me. What do I do?Community AnswerDon't worry about what other people think, because if you feel great, then that's all that matters. If your friend's brother teases you, ignore him. Try to convince your mother by showing her famous people with pixie cuts, and remind her that your hair will grow out. Be persistent!

QuestionIs it best to do it before or after a fresh haircut? I had my haircut to have a bob with an undercut after my cut was finished, but the stylist told me it couldn't be done and I'd have to come back again.Community AnswerThe undercut is part of the haircut; it sounds like to me she didn't want to do it after finishing the bob. Be sure to tell your stylist what you want before she starts.

QuestionHow can I do an undercut that stimulates hair growth?Community AnswerAlthough no undercut will actually make your hair grow faster, it will help your hair grow back healthily (like trimming split ends). A slightly longer undercut will obviously grow out faster.

QuestionI want an undercut but my hair is thin, should I go with a smaller style of undercut?Rhona MillerCommunity AnswerIt is not a good idea to do this with thin hair as the undercut takes weight out the hair and it makes thin hair even thinner. If you really want to, only do a small vertical section in the back and don't do a triangle style.

QuestionMy mom said no to me shaving my head how do I convince her into letting me?Rhona MillerCommunity AnswerSee if she would be more willing to let you do the undercut first, then maybe a few months later ask her if you can get the sides done as well. Then slowly progress to higher then see if she would let you go the rest of the way to shaving it Ask her the reasons, it may just be she's worried. If it's long enough, look into donating your hair doing it so when you cut it, it can be used.

QuestionCan I do an undercut without clippers and how do I do it?Rhona MillerCommunity AnswerYou could but it would be very short as you would have to use scissors to cut the hair as close to the head as you could. And use a razor. And you can get clippers quite cheaply.
-
QuestionWill my undercut damage my hair?Rhona MillerCommunity AnswerNo, it won't damage the hair. It will just be a short area of your hair and it grows back.

QuestionWhat if I messed up really bad and have bald spots and stuff, but I can't see my hairstylist because of corona, but I'm going out with my friends soon?Rhona MillerCommunity AnswerKeep your hair down and don't curl it. Keep it straight and that way it will be hidden and won't be seen, unless you've done the whole under layer from above the ear on both sides, in which case it may be seen. If your parents are willing to help, you may be able to recut it at home to even it out. However, if it comes to the worst your parents may be able to help you shave the undercut. if you decide to do something drastic to sort it, you could ask your parents to use a razor so you won't have bald spots.

Questioni want to have an undercut (FYI, i'm 13) but my parents won't let me get one, because it isn't "lady like" enough. How do I get one if they won't let me?Rhona MillerCommunity AnswerWait for a bit, maybe a few months, then ask again. They may just be worried you won't like it but if you have the money, you can always go to a hairdressers and pay them yourself to do it. Start small and if they agree, then each time you get your hair cut, go slightly larger till you have it how you want.
