  • Question
Do I need to put on a top coat before going under the UV lamp?
    Lauren Lebuck
    Community Answer
No, you should apply your gel polish to your nails and then put them under the UV lamp.
  • Question
The nails are cloudy, what do I do?
    Mkissinger41
    Community Answer
Try using clear nail polish. It makes the nails shiner and less cloudy.
  • Question
Can I use a gel color or regular nail polish over natural dip powder?
    Community Answer
Yes. Dip powder nails are somewhere between a regular mani and fake nails. Instead of using UV rays to seal in the polish, the color comes from a pigmented powder. Dipping powder isn't the healthiest choice for natural nails.
  • Question
What am I doing wrong if my dip powder nails start pilling around the cuticle and side of the nail and only last 1 week the most?
    Community Answer
You need to leave your nails in for 10 - 15 minutes, then wash your cuticles gently with soap and water.
  • Question
My nails feel rough like sandpaper on top of nails, what went wrong ?
    Community Answer
Maybe try applying a clear top coat on top of your nails to make them smoother. Otherwise, the glitter will give your nails a rough texture.
  • Question
What is that skin guard you are using around the nail? I would like to purchase it.
    LunarEclipse
    Community Answer
There is a product similar to this that does the job just as effectively: liquid latex. If you are looking to purchase such items, I recommend online indie nail shops or online shopping resources. You can also find this nail sticker in nail care sections of stores.
  • Question
Do I need to sand the surface of my nails?
    Ellie Homewood
    Community Answer
No. If you do, the powder will most likely fall off. Apply a top coat, and repeat it if you want for a much more even manicure.
  • Question
How do I extend the length of my nail using dip? My nails are thin––should I stick to gel?
    Community Answer
If you have thin nails, put a top coat or skin toned coat on before applying nail polish. Then do your nails with 2 layers of the desired polish. Once that is done and dried, apply a clear top coat.
  • Question
Where can I find the nail tip extending form?
    Community Answer
Amazon has them. Search "nail extender"; there are some that aren't expensive.
  • Question
How do you change polish color from fake nails that were powder dipped?
    Community Answer
You can paint over the top of the dipped nail extensions if they are still in decent condition. Or, you can remove them by soaking in acetone for 15 minutes, then apply new false nail tips and use a new color of powder dip. (Dip powders come in a wide range of colors like the “regular” liquid nail polish.)
  • Question
Can the clear dip powder be used on the natural nail by itself or do you have to use color in addition?
    Becca
    Community Answer
You can use clear dip powder on its own and colour is optional if you wanted a bolder look.
  • Question

No. if they are weak, then your nails could get damaged by adding more materials.
  • Question
Are there any substitutes for resin and bond? e.g. Is primer the same as bond?
    Alex Salvaggio
    Community Answer
Chemically, they are much more corrosive to the natural nail. The primary function of primer is to bond the acrylic to the nail plate much like the roots of a tree to the ground. Primer is only applied to the natural nail.
