Can I use a gel color or regular nail polish over natural dip powder?

Yes. Dip powder nails are somewhere between a regular mani and fake nails. Instead of using UV rays to seal in the polish, the color comes from a pigmented powder. Dipping powder isn't the healthiest choice for natural nails.

How do you change polish color from fake nails that were powder dipped?

You can paint over the top of the dipped nail extensions if they are still in decent condition. Or, you can remove them by soaking in acetone for 15 minutes, then apply new false nail tips and use a new color of powder dip. (Dip powders come in a wide range of colors like the “regular” liquid nail polish.)

Chemically, they are much more corrosive to the natural nail. The primary function of primer is to bond the acrylic to the nail plate much like the roots of a tree to the ground. Primer is only applied to the natural nail.
