If you are a fast drawer, it may only take a couple minutes. Coloring it may take a bit longer. If you go slow and add many details, it will take more time, but you will have a better finished product.
  • Question
Do I have to draw the fur?
    Community Answer
Well, for a more realistic cat, the fur lines are required. Not drawing them would result in a more cartoonish cat, if that's what you want, then sure. Try it and see how it works out, if you don't like it, you can always just try again with a different strategy.

    Community Answer
When you do whiskers, do slightly curved lines, but don't draw them with sketchy lines, normal lines look better. If you want, you can do sketch lines and then do normal lines after. Also, don't do any more than about 20 whiskers in total (10 on each side), and dots around the whisker area usually looks good. Of course, you should feel free to put your own spin on it!

How do I add the cross on a head that's facing directly to the left or right?
    Community Answer
If the cat's head is facing in profile to the left or right, make only one line, the horizontal line, across the face. The horizontal line should be curved down ever so slightly for depth. You only make the horizontal line because the vertical one would be right along the profile.

  • Question
How do I draw an entire cat?
    Community Answer
First, sketch circles out for the head, then make circles for the chest to the waist, then draw a line along the back or the middle. Then, draw a T shape in the middle of the head, or the side (depending on which angle the cat is looking at). Next, you draw lines for the legs, for example: if a cat is sitting, it is most likely the front legs will be straight, and the back will be scrunched up in a sitting position. Then, make circles for the joints of the legs. Finally, make a line for the tail (you can position it anyway you want to). Then, just draw the necessary (paws, body, face, etc.) add fur (depending on breed of cat) and you're done!
  • Question
Do I need to add the fur on the inside of the face?
    Community Answer
It's not required, but to achieve this look you may want to. If you want your cat to be more detailed, it's a good option. Although I personally would not recommend the fur on the mouth, cats do have fur on their mouths, but it is very short.
