Be sure to take enough time to draw everything. Start with the basic lines in the pose that you wish your person to be in, and begin fleshing out from there. I had a lot of trouble with drawing things because I wouldn't take enough time to make sure all the lines were in the right place and that the drawing looked right. Details can always be hard to add. I don't really have much advice there. I'd say to look up some other drawing videos. I recommend Mark Crilley's drawing tutorials, they're good for even an expert to take a look at.

Guide lines are helpful to gauge the proper proportions. It helps plan the space out. Otherwise, you might start drawing and realize that things aren't spaced out properly, or that the drawing won't fit within the paper.

Draw a cylinder with a small top base and finished bottom. Go to the side of the vertical. 3/4 of the way up, draw half of a smile on the edge of the side you want to be the face. Connect a horizontal line going to the edge and from this you should have 1/4th of a circle. Split a line dividing the total cylinder in half horizontally and erase the unused bottom half. From there add any details and designs you want and connect the helm to your body.

Make your armor cobbled together from found materials and old leather jackets, and make it look dirty, worn and ripped.

No certain poses are required, but they may be fighting with swords. They should be wearing suits of armor.

As the tutorial said: use photos for reference. Use Google Image Search to find something you like, then copy/alter it to your satisfaction.

It is hard to fix them after you do it, but make sure to do your guide lines correctly in order to fix the spaces, and learn from your mistakes (i.e. making the legs too short, or the elbows too far down).

I've done these knights quite a lot, and I prefer not to color them! Maybe add a little shading if you're using a pencil, but that's it!

Follow the steps all they way until step 8/details step and add a/some cuts or scars on any exposed skin. For example, the face is exposed, so place a scar over the eye. On Step 10, use dull and dark colors instead of bright and vibrant colors. Black, different shades of gray, dark variants of the following red, blue, orange, yellow, brown, etc. Tip for the armor: you could use less plated armor and more chain mail.

Draw a helmet first and then just add the rest of the armor pieces one by one. So, instead of the armor being over the helmet, it is under it. However, it depends also on what style armor you are drawing; the suggestion works best for chain mail mostly.
