  • Question
Where can I find a cheap, knee-length blue dress?
    Community Answer
Try looking on eBay or Amazon. If you can't find a cheap one, then I recommend you try making your own.
  • Question
Do I need to have blond hair or not?
    Community Answer
Lewis Carroll's original illustrations for Alice were in black-and-white, and it appears she was a brunette. The costume will reveal who you are.
  • Question
Can I do this with black hair?
    Krystal
    Community Answer
If you have a recognizable enough costume, then yes. If your hair truly bothers you, you could try a wig or temporary hair dye.
  • Question
    How do I make a white pinafore/apron?
    Community Answer
An economical, easy way is to take a length of white fabric, perhaps an old sheet, and cut it to the shape in the illustrations, tied around the waist with another strip of cloth or wide ribbon. White T-shirts cut in same way work as well.
  • Question
Should I also dye my cat purple? Does that help the look?
    Miranda DerpFace Enterprises
    Community Answer
If you want a purple cat, find a stuffed animal. Don't dye your cat. It is never safe to dye an animal.
  • Question
Could I possibly use black brogue shoes in place of Mary Jane's? Or would that deviate too far from the canon?
    Torpi
    Top Answerer
Brogues are fine. The character is still recognisable. The book doesn't mention what kind of shoes she wears, anyway.
  • Question
At the moment we are in quarantine, but I still want to make a cosplay, so where can I get good material online for making a dress?
    Community Answer
Fabric stores are great. Try looking at online fabric stores and craft stores that have many selections. You could also try looking at Etsy and auction/trading sites like eBay.
