When applying for a passport, should I write my child's height in inches or centimeters?

Normally on the passport form it is stated what unit (i.e. centimeters/inches) is to be used. If this is not so I would advise using both units, placing the conversion of either one in brackets. For example; 5 feet (152.4 centimeters).
