  • Question
Should I have a friend climb into the tree to pull it away from the house if it falls the wrong way?
    Community Answer
No, no one should be near the tree when it's going to fall except the cutter. As soon as it begins to fall, the cutter should leave too.
  • Question
Can I use a closer tree to brace the fall of the tree I am cutting?
    Community Answer
That might cause the closer tree to tip over as well, so, unless you're sure the tree is stable, it's probably not the best idea.
  • Question
How do I prevent saplings from emerging organically after cutting down a tree?
    Dan Sharp VII
    Community Answer
There are three ways. You can remove the stump with either an ax and shovel or a mechanical stump grinder (you can often rent a stump grinder at your local tool rental spot or employ a tree service to do it). Or you can simply bury it by covering the stump with soil and mulch at least 6 inches thick, then plant flowers or grasses to hide the mound. You could also poison it by drilling a bunch of holes in the stump and filling them with either salt or glyphosphate (RoundUp).
  • Question
Can I use a long rope attached high up on the trunk and pull lightly with a truck to help determine the angle of the fall?
    Community Answer
I have many times, and it always worked. Make sure the rope has sufficient length so the tree won't fall on your truck.

    Jose maria Garcia
    Community Answer
Sometimes not because there might be some animals that might be there like a bird or a squirrel that could die when the tree is chopped. Please seek local wildlife conservation authorities or organizations for removal of any animals that are found, before cutting the tree.
