How do you use the marking map?

It is really simple. Drag the symbols on the bottom right corner of the bottom screen to where you want them. The marking map doesn't reset when you leave to another page. It is also used to find the three Legendary lake Pokemon.

How do I catch Mesprit in Pokemon Platinum? I can't even get into battle with it.

It's pretty hard to encounter at first. Use the Map Marker Pokewatch app to find Mesprit. If you use fly to get to Mesprit, it will move to somewhere else. Even if you walk into the route, it will move into the next area. Try to trap it.

You have to try and knock them down to as little health as possible and use spore or another move that puts a pokemon to sleep. Then, use dusk balls for the best chance at catching them in the cave.
